This Privacy Policy explains how ASOCIAŢIA MOMCO (“we”, “the Association”, “the controller”) processes personal data of visitors and users of https://momco.ro (the “Site”), in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable Romanian law.

2. What data we process

Depending on how you use the Site, we may process:

  • Contact details sent through the contact form: first name, last name, email address, location (selected city/county), and the content of your message.
  • Technical and usage data collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics: IP address (possibly anonymized), device/browser type, pages visited, session duration, traffic source, and other aggregated usage metrics. See the Cookie policy.
  • Donation-related data: if you give by bank transfer, your bank and the Association may process the details needed for the payment (for example account holder name, amount, reference). These details are not collected through an online payment form on the Site.
  • Communication data you send us voluntarily by email or other channels (for example questions about groups, events, or projects).

We do not ask for, and do not intend to process, special categories of data (for example health or religion) through the Site. Please do not include such information in messages unless it is strictly necessary and you have given explicit consent.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Responding to requests (contact form, email) — legitimate interest and/or steps at your request before entering a relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
  • Running the Site, security, and traffic analysis (including Google Analytics) — legitimate interest in understanding how the Site is used and improving it; where the law requires it, on the basis of consent for non-essential cookies (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR).
  • Organizing events, projects, and moms’ communities — legitimate interest / performing a relationship with participants, as applicable.
  • Processing gifts — legal accounting and tax duties, as well as a legitimate interest in administering the support we receive (Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR).
  • Meeting legal obligations — where the law requires us to keep or disclose certain information.

4. How the Site is used

Among other things, the MomCo Romania Site offers:

  • information about the MomCo community of mothers, our mission, and projects;
  • a list and details of events (conferences, trainings, summits);
  • the “Find a group near you” section, including an embedded Google My Maps map;
  • a giving page with bank-transfer details;
  • a contact form;
  • links to social channels and The MomCo international resources.

Google Maps and other third-party embeds may involve sending technical data to Google under their policies. See also the Cookie policy.

5. Recipients / processors

Data may be accessed, as needed, by:

  • members of the Association’s team, on a need-to-know basis;
  • IT/hosting, website maintenance, email, and web-analytics providers (for example Google Analytics / Google LLC);
  • public authorities, when the law requires it;
  • partners involved in organizing events, only as far as necessary and with appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal data. Transfers outside the EEA (for example Google services) are made on the basis of GDPR safeguards (standard contractual clauses / equivalent mechanisms), where applicable.

6. How long we keep data

  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to reply and keep a record of correspondence, typically up to 24 months, unless a legal reason requires a longer period.
  • Analytics data: according to the tool’s settings and configured retention policy (typically aggregated periods of 14 months or similar).
  • Accounting data related to gifts: according to legal archiving periods (generally 5–10 years, depending on the document).

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • be informed and access your data;
  • rectification;
  • erasure (“the right to be forgotten”), where the law allows;
  • restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • data portability, where applicable;
  • withdraw consent (for example for analytics cookies) without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) — www.dataprotection.ro.

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No transmission over the internet is completely free of risk.

9. Children

The Site is intended mainly for mothers / adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 through the Site. If we learn we have received such data without an appropriate legal basis, we will delete it.

10. Updates

We may update this policy to reflect legal or Site changes. The current version is published on this page, with the date of the last update.
